“DOCTOR’S FARM” is mainly a horticultural farm, with about 5000 trees growing in its 15 acres. Mango, Cashew, Coconut and Teak, are its mainstay. However, Breadfruit , Jackfruit , Betel Nut , Chickoo, Lemon, Guava, Mulberry, Pineapple, Banana, Papaya and Kokum have a sizeable presence. Floriculture is also given importance, with Gladiolus, Orchids, Anthorium and Roses, given pride of place. Cinnamon, Pepper and Cloves make up the rest. Though organic farming is the mainstay, as far as inputs, are concerned, chemical pesticides are presently in use. A guide, is at all times available, to show our guests around the farm. A walk around the farm could be a very highly entertaining and educative experience, especially for children of the age group of 5 to 12 years, as much of what is explained, is part of their curriculum in Botany. The nuances of conservation of water, terracing of land to prevent soil erosion, grafting of plants, the benefits of using fertilizers, the various pests affecting trees and their fruits, and the strategies developed to combat it, is thoroughly explained.

Note:Plucking of flowers and fruits, is strictly forbidden, and the penalties imposed are severe. However, interested persons, are free to purchase items on sale.
At dawn or in the evening, when the birds are most cheerful, “DOCTOR’S FARM” could be a bird watcher’s delight. Again, boating and fishing are pleasurable activities carried out early morning or evening, when the climate is most accommodating. It is also the right time for a walk around the farm. Around 11:00 am is the right time for a dip in the pool and to sit under the artificial waterfall.Of course, from mid June to mid October, one can enjoy the 4 natural waterfalls, barely 1 ½ kms from “DOCTOR’S FARM”. Outdoor games like cricket, football, throw ball, badminton and basketball could be played in a 6000 sq.ft.playground. Indoor games like chess, carom, cards and darts are also available.
  1. Swimming in the river is discouraged, as although the river is very tranquil, it is also very deep. Life jackets are to be compulsorily worn, if one goes boating.
  2. The water in the swimming pool is directly pumped in from the river. There is no filtration, chlorination or recycling of the water. The excess water is allowed to overflow from the pool, back to the river. It is a continuous flow of fresh river water.
  3. Fishing tools provided are simple; consisting of a rod and line, with dough as bait. Serious anglers are expected to bring their own fishing gear.
Expert cooks concoct delicious veg and non-veg dishes, in separate kitchens, and is served in a large 1500 sq.ft. hall. Music and dancing is enjoyed by the youngsters. Food is buffet in nature and is served in the lower hall. However, the upper terrace of 1500 sq. ft. is occupied in the late evenings and night,by those who wish to soak in the serenity, and the magic of the celestial world. It is amazing to see our firmament, without the blinkers of skyscrapers and pollution.

The day begins at 7:00 am with morning tea/coffee. It is followed by breakfast at around 8:30 am. Breakfast would consist of 2 items, along with tea/coffee. For example, it could be Kanda Poha with Batata Wada, or Egg Bhurji Pav, with Missal Pav, or Idli Sambar with Medu Wada, etc...

Lunch follows at 1:30 pm with chapatti, dal, rice, 2 vegetables, salad, pickles and a sweet dish. One non vegetarian dish, usually chicken, is also part of the menu. Those who wish to have a late lunch or dinner need not worry. The food will be warmed and served to them when they want it.
Then follows evening tea/coffee with biscuits
Starters, (virtually a mini meal), follows at around 8:00 pm with Chicken, Paneer, Mushroom, American Golden Corn and Kabuli Chana to nibble on while you have your drinks.

Dinner would be similar to lunch, except that no item served for lunch, would be repeated, except for rice and chapatti. It must be noted here, that all meals including starters, are absolutely unlimited, and at no extra cost. The last call for dinner, would be 12:00 midnight, after which the food would be placed on the tables, but the staff would retire for the night. Soft Drinks, Soda and Mild Kingfisher beer is available with us, however guests are expected to carry their own stock of hard liquor
